The European eHealth accelerator FICHe challenges European startups to market eHealth innovations, with the use of FIWARE technology. FICHe is co-financed by the European Committee.
In the period 2014-2016, 80 selected startups are offered an 18-month program of training, coaching, and technical support. The 20 highest valued startups can count on a total of € 217,000 of financial support. In total, FICHe offers more than € 6,200,000 to the selected startups. In FICHe, the zorgInc. Foundation is responsible for coaching and support. Dutch eHealth Fund Management (selections and assessment of startups), Stichting Digitale Zorg (Digital Care Foundation) (media and communication), and Amsterdam Economic Board (ecosystem) are other Dutch project partners in the consortium of 9 participating partners from Finland, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Of the 80 eHealth startups in phase 1, 15 were from the Netherlands. In May, FICHe presented the 40 selected startups, which are participating in phase 2, during the eHealth Week 2015 in Riga. There are still 6 Dutch startups among these 40 participants. On July 16-17, 2015, the Pitching Days will take place in Amsterdam and the 20 startups will be selected, which will continue to phase 3. This phase focuses on, amongst others, living lab tests, go-to-market strategy, team development, and up-scaling.
